The practice of Birch Tapping is ancient to hunter-gatherer humans, but it is little known today that the Birch tree has so many useful, edible, medicinal and healing qualities. This is a day to celebrate this extraordinary tree and change that!
Birch sap is a slightly sweet and highly mineral rich drink that has been used by our ancestors throughout history for nutrition at the end of winter. Tree tapping is the art of collecting some of this precious sap as it flows abundantly in the early spring, a time when the trees awaken and start rejuvenating from their roots with rising sap. You will have the opportunity to quench your thirst with this sap and in the afternoon take the spring rejuvenation process further…
